Days of pain and belittlement, they come with the cross.
Days of victory and blessing, come through the cross.
Matthew 16 verses 24 and 25:
V 24: “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.”
V 25: “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will find it’.”
Be willing to take up your cross and follow, in following we have been given a task and a promise; Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20;
The Task is to go, and make disciples verse 19;
The Promise is, He is with us always, to the end of the age;
We are called to witness, Jeremiah was called and He had an excuse too.
Jeremiah 1 verse 6: “Oh no Lord God! Look I don’t know how to speak since I am only a youth.”
We are called to witness, and Our Lord and Our Friend has the answer and is the answer.
Jeremiah 1 verse 8: “Do not be afraid of anyone, for I will be with you to deliver you.”
In our repentance, and acceptance and following, Our Lord and Our Friend will be with us, through everything, in times of the exciting and the miraculous and in times of the difficult and the trying. That is His Promise.
Take up our cross is our calling, The Holy Spirit is our helper and guide. The Way has been set Jon 14 verse 6;
“Jesus told them, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to The Father accept through Me’.”
Take up our cross and follow, and even though we walk through some challenging places, He will be with us. Psalm 23. The Lord is our Shepherd.
God Bless.
